This little piggy…

We have loved getting to know Girl Ambassador Franziska this year from the German International School in Sydney. She visited Fiji and stayed with Urmila which was life changing for her and as part of her senior school course work, is volunteering with us.

She will be a regular contributor to our blogs and has some great stories to tell!

“No act of kindness; no matter how small, is every wasted” Aesop

“This week I received a donation of $160 from my math’s teacher out of the blue. As I was busy breaking my head over some probability questions, he turns to me and presents me with a little piggy bank that had been standing in the staffroom for some time.

The plan had been to use this loose-change money for a collective teacher dinner, but when they learnt about my involvement with ‘a girl and her world’, they changed their mind and decided that it would be much more worthwhile and sustainable if it went to the girls in Fiji!

This made my day and was such a nice surprise, as I have visited the girls in Fiji myself and know just how much difference $160 can make. This sum (easily spent when going out together for dinner) can set up a family with chickens for life and will help to sustain a better future for them. Many thanks again to my teachers! This donation will definitely go a long way in making a difference”
