Happy International Women’s Day 2024 from all of us at a Girl & her world!

Today, as we mark this special day, we’re diving into the theme set by the United Nations: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” 

It’s a call to action that’s close to our hearts because we know just how crucial it is to support and empower women and Girls. 

Here at a Girl & her world, we’re all about championing Girls’ education. We know that education isn’t just about books and grades—it’s about unlocking potential, breaking down barriers, and paving the way for brighter futures.

When we invest in Girls’ education, we’re investing in stronger communities, better opportunities, and a world that’s more inclusive for everyone.

But let’s be real: achieving gender equality isn’t a walk in the park. We’ve made some strides, but we’ve still got a long way to go. The COVID-19 pandemic hit women and Girls particularly hard, throwing up new challenges and exacerbating existing inequalities, especially when it came to education. It was a stark reminder of why we need to keep pushing for progress, no matter what.

We believe that when we stand up for women’s and Girls’ rights, we’re not just doing the right thing, we’re also laying the groundwork for stronger economies, fairer societies and a healthier planet. 

When women and Girls are given the tools and opportunities they need to thrive, they become unstoppable forces for positive change.

So, on this International Women’s Day, we are recommitting to the cause.

Join us as we pledge to keep advocating for women and Girls, ensuring they have the chance to shine and make their mark on the world. 

Together, we can build a future where every Girl’s dreams are within reach—and that’s something worth celebrating.

We had a great example of this when just recently this wonderful community rose to the challenge when we needed to get 10 extra Girls back to school within a very short period of time – just 2 days in fact!
