1 week to go!

I realised last week that it was March. I know, I’m quick, but it kind of crept up on me and it occurred to me that 3 members of our team, Kym, Joanna and I (as well as 3 junior team members Jess, Maddy and Ellie) will be travelling to Fiji in 1 week!

We will be visiting RakiRaki (pictured) which is a rural area to the north of Fiji and our main focus at the moment. We will meet with girls, families, schools and villages all connected to A Girl & Her World  and I am looking forward to holding discussion groups with teachers and principals about the barriers to educating girls, and solutions as they see them.

Currently, we have some honey bee income generating projects on the go as well in RakiRaki and we will go to the village that we buy them from on behalf of the parents of the girls we support. We are also trialling some other small business ideas such as veggie gardens and chicken coups and will see how viable they are.

We are most excited to visit the girls whose schooling we are supporting and to be able to show you their lovely smiles and report back on how they are going.

We have had some fantastic responses from our first newsletter out last week and love how A Girl & Her World resonates with so many…passion is contagious!

Thank you so much, as always we’d love you to get involved…like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and sign up to our newsletter to stay connected.
